Coaching Spotlight: Autumn Rue’s Journey to Salon Ownership, Scheduling, and Pricing Strategy

From Nail Tech to Salon Owner


Autumn Rue’s story is nothing short of extraordinary. At just 22 years old, Autumn has already opened her own booth rental space, Soul Beauty Wellness, and filled it with six talented stylists. Her journey began in November 2023, when she joined the Stylist Soul Tribe. In just six months, she accomplished what many take years to achieve, proving that passion and dedication can lead to rapid success.


Navigating the Challenges


As a new salon owner, Autumn faced the complexities of managing her schedule, setting appropriate prices, and ensuring her business remained profitable. Despite being highly intuitive, she recognized the need to adopt a more analytical approach to sustain her growth. This coaching session focuses on helping Autumn streamline her operations and optimize her pricing strategy.


Optimizing the Schedule


Autumn’s current work schedule is intense, with 48-50 hours a week spent serving clients and handling administrative tasks. Her goal is to reduce this to a more manageable 35-40 hours per week, allowing her to maintain her passion without burning out. We discussed the importance of setting consistent hours and the benefits of pre-booking clients to create a stable and predictable workflow.


Strategic Pricing Adjustments


One of the key areas we tackled was Autumn’s pricing strategy. Her current rates varied significantly, leading to inconsistencies in her earnings. By analyzing her services and calculating her earnings per minute, we developed a more streamlined approach. Autumn is now set to standardize her pricing to $80 per hour, ensuring she is fairly compensated for her time and effort.


Implementing a Price Increase


Raising prices can be daunting, but it is essential for maintaining a sustainable and profitable business. Autumn plans to implement a significant price increase starting July 1st, with a 30-day notice to her clients. This strategic move will help her balance her workload and ensure she continues to deliver high-quality services without compromising her well-being.
